Terms of Use

Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the AnglerHood mobile application (the "App"), operated by ANGLERHOOD, LLC ("AnglerHood," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

AnglerHood is currently in beta. Features may change, and the App may contain bugs. We appreciate your patience and feedback.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create your own AnglerHood account. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@jointheanglerhood.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. Angler Profiles and Attribution

AnglerHood lets you create additional angler profiles, for example for family or friends fishing with you, so catches can be attributed to the correct angler. You are responsible for the accuracy of catches you record and for having the consent of anyone whose catch you record under their profile.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose, misrepresent catches, tournament results, or angler identity in a way intended to defraud another participant, attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its backend systems, or upload content that infringes another person's rights or violates applicable law.

5. Tournaments

AnglerHood currently supports friendly, no-cost tournaments among anglers you know or who join using a code you share. Tournament results depend on information entered by participants; AnglerHood does not independently verify every catch. If AnglerHood introduces paid contests or cash prizes in the future, additional rules and terms will apply and will be presented to you before you can participate.

6. Content You Provide

You retain ownership of the photos and information you add to the App. By using the App, you grant AnglerHood a limited license to store and display that content back to you as part of the App's functionality, such as in your catch history. AnglerHood does not currently offer social sharing or public posting of your catches; if that feature is added, we will ask for your permission before any content is shown to other users.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is." Weather, moon phase, and similar environmental data are provided by third-party sources and may be inaccurate or unavailable. AnglerHood does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-assisted species identification or catch estimates, and you should use your own judgment, especially where local fishing regulations depend on accurate species identification.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AnglerHood and its founders are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including lost data, lost catches, or disputes between tournament participants.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold AnglerHood and its founders harmless from any claim, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your use of the App, content you provide, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

10. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Most concerns can be resolved informally — please contact us first at support@jointheanglerhood.com. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, you and AnglerHood agree to resolve it through binding arbitration on an individual basis rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. Arbitration will be conducted under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You and AnglerHood each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration.

11. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content in the App infringes your copyright, contact us at support@jointheanglerhood.com with a description of the work, its location in the App, and your contact information, and we will investigate and respond in accordance with applicable law.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time, and can delete your account directly from Settings in the App, or by contacting support@jointheanglerhood.com.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

14. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and AnglerHood regarding the App. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

15. Apple App Store Terms

If you downloaded the App from Apple's App Store, you also acknowledge the following: this agreement is between you and AnglerHood only, not Apple, and Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the App; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection law. Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, or resolving any claim that the App or your use of it infringes a third party's intellectual property rights. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as AnglerHood evolves. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
